“Thank you for taking us on these amazing trips and excursions. The food on the boat was very good and I liked the sharks, beaches, turtles, snorkeling, and underwater caves.

My favorite food was the Nutella skillet cookies and cinnamon rolls. I also liked how you spent your free time tubing with us.

Chef, your food is absolutely off the charts amazing! We ate so well and loved everything so it’s hard to name my favorites however I know I will need to go on a diet when I get home. Your food is so delicious, healthy and made with love that I enjoyed it all (I didn’t want to miss anything).

Captain, your cocktails every night for sunset and your fabulous humor are so appreciated. You make everything so much fun! The laughs during Code Names were the best — I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time.

Everything we did made the whole experience so memorable and you were both an inspiration for our kids as they navigate their way in the world.

Our first time in the Exumas and it exceeded all of our expectations!   The boat was perfect, the water was beautiful and the weather was great…. But most importantly Nik & Lily hit it out of the park!    What an incredible job they both did on this charter.   The food, the service, the fun - everything about them made this trip extra special!  We haven’t even left the boat yet but were looking at dates for 2027 to rebook!  Cant wait to see you guys again in the future.

We traded the money for the memories and what incredible memories we have now made. This journey through the Exumas was nothing short of magical.  From swimming with the nurse sharks, feeding iguanas, strolling powdery sandbars, and amazing food; every moment was a dream come true.

What a week! This is our second trip aboard and it WILL NOT BE OUR LAST!  This week was all first and we had such a blast.  It was amazing to see the crew in a completely different element from when I came aboard with my family and how well they adapted to the different atmosphere of our group.  Lily our food & service is beyond! What a fantastic adventure! Thanks for the amazing food, wine and cocktails. Love the attention to detail, great swimming and snorkeling, the tender in the waves, the "shark attacks" cappuccino, sausage rolls, lobster, the tiny snapper! Thank you for a lovely week! Obviously when you book a5 night private trip on a private catamaran for a work associates, your hopes and expectations are very high. A little trip intimidation about spending that many days with work people. You two so very much exceeded our hopes and expectations. I never dreamed we'd have a gourmet spread for all three meals a day. Homemade desserts each evening served with a smile - you met us when we came back from our excursions with a snack. Thank you.

Each days excursions were well thought out. Something new to see and do each day. You both have the perfect temperament to entertain and we pushed it hard from early morning to late at night. Nick was so patient and accommodating with all our various requests and different levels of abilities.

I can't say what was my favorite activity because they were all so different and interesting. Thank you for a week I'll never forget. Please, please come visit us in Kansas. Not as beautiful as your Caribbean, but would be a great place for you to base a Midwest tourist trip from.

Spending a week with you on Location was better than imagined. Both our families were able to see the Exumas in a way many can't, eat world class food and enjoy the time together that is hard to find nowdays.

The catamaran was ideal in every way and the tender made little trips off the boat fantastic.

We, the four (4) of us, were so lucky to synch with Tim & Candela as our very dedicated staff. “Attitude is everything” and they topped our expectations!!

Tim is so professional, focused on safety, and balanced with fun… everything you/we would want to enjoy our first time ever to the Bahamas and the Exumas. They were careful to tweak our itinerary such that the best weather was spent in sites where clear skies are critical to the 50-shades of blue… then the longer crossings were during the forecasted rainier times (literally one-hour total!).

The meals were fantastic and well plated, appreciated by all. The yacht was 100% outfitted, safe, clean, picturesque, dry, shaded, cool, organized, coffee & cocktail friendly, etc.

We can’t wait to re-schedule with this crew!!!

We had an amazing time. The captain and chef took great care of us. The food was absolutely awesome, and I swear we all gained 5lbs!! Candela was super attentive and kept us well fed. This was our first boat charter, and we couldn’t have been happier!
So many memories made. The boat and crew were amazing. We saw Iguanas, dolphins, Rays, turtles, sharks, and fish.

Our trip was absolutely perfect. Each place was more beautiful than the last. The two of you made a bucket list into life long memories. Everything from the itinerary of our travels to the food and drinks each night was nothing short of perfection. We had an absolutely amazing trip with beautiful water adventures catching delicious fish.enjoyed the inside knowledge of Ivan and Marisia the thoughtful planned trip. Teaching our kids to snorkel, fish scuba Diving. Exploring the sea creatures educating us all about BVI wild life all of these fantastic memories were effortlessly provided while creating delicious meals (Marisia queen of the sea and kitchen)and guiding the vessel like pro captain Ivan is. Wow, what a great experience. Ivan and Marisia went above and beyond our family expectations. They were knowledgeable about the area and extremely experienced in the realm of sailing. Marisia even helped entertain our 5 year old daughter and truly went above and beyond, teaching her to snorkel and to be comfortable in the ocean. Was HUGE! She also did such a fantastic job with the menu that the meals that's heaven prepared, were delicious, varied, and presented beautifully. They were flexible with our itinerary and did such a great job guiding us through the amazingly locations. It's clear they take pride in their work, work well as a team, and take care of their vessel, so it's in tip-top shape at all times.

We all got to experience new things and some of us conquered our fears of the ocean thanks to the calm and expert guidance of our crew. This week has been incredible starting with the warm welcome and big hugs. It was easy to see your genuine personalities and bubbling energy. We knew you were the perfect fit for us! Chef-your attention to meals was over the top and much appreciated. I don't think we ate one thing that we didn't like. We also appreciated the variety of snacks set out for any time. Your enthusiasm for life is contagious never lose that ! You both made us feel at home and inspire us to return sooner than later. We just competed an 8 day charter with Ether and her crew and had a wonderful time. They are both kind and energetic people who are outstanding professionals. I would not hesitate in the future to book them for a repeat charter and hope to do so. I can highly recommend them for your next BVI trip.

The crew of Ether were just incredible. As I shared with them there is customer service and there is customer experience. Customer service is how you treat someone, customer experience is how that person feels treated. I believe I can speak for each and every one of us that were on the trip that they treated us like Royalty! The food was better than a 5 star hotel and their patience, kindness, and humbleness is unheard of in today’s world. If there is anything that we can do to pass on our gratitude to whomever they work for or our appreciation please let us know. Again I lack the words to convey how amazing they were. THEY made the TRIP!!

I know I speak for all of us when I say WOW! We all expected the BVI to be gorgeous, and it sure was, but what we didn’t expect was just how great the actual charter experience would be. Karma was a beauty! She was perfect for the 4 of us; giving everyone plenty of room to spread out and relax, or allowing us all to join together for dinner/drinks/music/story time. The provided towels, sunscreen, cups/koozies, shampoo and conditioner really put the cherry on the top. Extra kudos to the AMAZING AC in the cabins. Very unexpected and greatly appreciated. Carol and I also really enjoyed our time up front during the sailings and also was our favorite way to end our nights with some music from their provided speaker. 10 out of 10 for Karma!!

Now onto our top notch crew….Jake and Mackenzie could NOT have been any better. From our communication beforehand, all the way to our “forced” departure from Karma was nothing short of perfection.
Jake wears 100 hats on that yacht: some being captain, plumber, electrician, dingy transporter, keeping everyone informed of the daily plans, leading you in scuba dives, arranging on shore transportation, and our favorite hat was his patience and sweet smile/smirk while listening to our LOUD antics. Jake is so knowledgeable about all things BVI and yachting, we all felt completely safe and in good hands.
And now let’s talk about Mackenzie…THIS FOOD!!!! We woke up every morning to the unreal smells of her breakfast filling our cabins. Mid day “snacks” were gourmet and mouth watering even for our picky boys. And her dinners…..HOLY SMOKES!! I have no clue how she was able to do it every single night, but she did!! Top tier meals and desserts that left all of us ready to pop. We told her in advance our boys like plain food and she took “plain food” and elevated it into a three MICHELIN star meal that had our boys cleaning their plates. She is so thoughtful in everything she makes and it shows in taste and gorgeous presentation.

On top of shared yacht time, we were able to spend some time with them off yacht, per OUR request, and really feel like we left with two more family members. From Shark Shots, family meetings, lobster dinner ashore, random story times, the 7/14 game at Hendo’s, girl time in the water at Soggy’s, my surprise 50th bday decorations and cake, to the real sign of adoration…nicknames!!! Jake Ma Boy and Mack Daddy will come highly recommended from our group to anyone and everyone that asks, and they have an open invitation to stay with us in San Antonio!

The crew is what made Karma so perfect. Captain Tom and Chef Hannah..I don’t have adequate words to describe them. It is so hard to find the words to say for what this trip means to us. Family, friends, Xmas, and these good islands all together is incredible but then to have the 2 of you guiding us, cooking for us, sharing tips and smiles makes out hearts so full. Gourmet food, beautiful bays, unimaginable rainbows, peanut butter bushwhackers and the best gin fizz ever. snorkeling with seat turtles, sunrises and sunsets, best Kentucky Derby party with caribbean hats to boot. Our family recently had the vacation of a lifetime aboard Penny Jo

From the moment we stepped onboard, Captain Martin and Chef Suzana made us feel completely at home. Martin's knowledge of the Exumas was incredible, and he took us to some of the most breathtaking locations we've ever seen. The scenery was spectacular, and every day brought a new adventure.

Suzana's meals were absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared, delicious, and seemed to perfectly complement our days on the water. We looked forward to every meal as much as the next destination.

Sailing on the Penny Jo with Suzana and Martin was nothing short of extraordinary. The moment we set out on the stunning, crystal‑blue ocean, it was obvious we were in the best hands possible. The water was so beautiful it felt unreal, and they made sure we had every opportunity to enjoy it.

Suzana was incredible from start to finish. We Just returned from a wonderful 7 day sail in The Exumas on The Penny Jo. Our crew Martin and Suzanna took great care of us. As you can see from the pictures the food was amazing.
Martin made us fresh baked bread several mornings to accompany Suzanna's breakfast spread.We floated, snorkeled, paddle boarded, swam with the nurse sharks and pigs! We hope to return again soon.

Just got home from an unforgettable trip on Penny Jo for my 40th birthday celebration. I went with my husband and two other couples and had the best chef and captain taking care of us around the clock! Suzana was an amazing cook and Martin was exceptional with sharing the history of the beautiful islands and seeking out the best (practically private) islands where we got off the boat to relax on the beach and/or do excursions. We got to swim with the pigs, nurse sharks, turtles and snorkeled around various beautiful areas. Suzana and Martin made this trip so special for me and I will never forget it! We WILL see you two again.

Had THE most amazing trip to the Exumas with my daughter and besties, and I have to share because this was everything I didn’t know I needed!

At first, I wasn’t sure if this kind of trip was even in our budget, but once we saw everything included—private yacht, personalized excursions, incredible food, and top-tier service—it was worth every penny.

The Penny Jo Sailing Charter was modern luxury.  Spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with private bathrooms in every cabin—which, let me tell you, was priceless. No sharing, no waiting, just comfort.

And the food? Not basic cruise food. Everything was made from scratch, customized to our tastes, and absolutely delicious. Every meal felt special, prepared just the way we wanted.

Mornings with fresh coffee and a stunning sunrise? Perfect. WiFi to handle a few quick work things? Yes, but only until breakfast was ready when we wanted it.

Suzana and Captain Martine treated us like royalty, catering to our every need and making sure we were 100% satisfied. What made it even better was how genuine and effortless their hospitality was—you could tell they truly love what they do, and that energy made the trip even more special.

The excursions were exactly what we asked for—just the right mix of adventure and relaxation. Some days, it was peaceful, just us and the endless blue water. Other days, we wanted a little action, and they made it happen.

It was the perfect way to unwind, reconnect, and actually slow down for once. Now that my family and friends have seen how incredible this was, they’re already planning the next trip with me.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever set foot on a commercial cruise again. If you ever get the chance, do this.

Our sailing trip through the Bahamas, specifically the Exumas, was simply fantastic! We saw so many marine animals, but the highlight for us was definitely the sea turtles. One of the most thrilling experiences was swimming with sharks – truly unforgettable!

Had the best and most unique experience on Penny Jo Sailing Charters. From when we were greeted at the airport to meeting the sailing hosts, and spending everyday exploring a new island... it was an unforgettable trip. Suzanna took such great care of us and catered the food to our likings throughout the trip. She always offered drinks and made sure we had everything we needed day and night. Martin was a great adventure guide always kept the days entertaining. He was very knowledgeable about the boat and the islands so we were always in good care and felt safe. We loved our week on Penny Jo! Amazing boat with great accommodations. The captain, Martin, and chef, Suzane are knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and great to be around. The crew (Martin and Suzana) were exceptional. All facets of the boat, sailing, moorings, beaches, snorkeling, hikes, dining, baking, cocktails, amenities, education, history, etc., were handled thoroughly, professionally, and with warmth and kindness. Can’t say enough good things about the two of them. The rest of my family feels exactly the same way.

Suzana is a very good chef. Loved her variety and willingness to cater to our tastes. She also makes killer cocktails!

This was the trip of a lifetime. The boat fit the four of us comfortably. The Penny Jo is in excellent condition, and Martin was constantly improving and servicing the vessel to keep it in top form. I love to see that standard of care. It was nice to have A/C in the staterooms. It gets warm in those cabins without it. I also really appreciate the pivoting back wall on the Bali. It’s really nice to have the whole cabin opened up. There was a good amount of shade. Never underestimate the importance of getting out of the sun.

Highlights on our touring included the Bath, The Cave, hikes across islands to totally remote beaches, swimming with sharks, snorkeling a large number of reefs, multiple crashed planes, turtles, Martin’s drone (he’s an amazing drone photographer), the aquarium, catching a dorado and barracuda, every shade of blue water possible, and sailing instructions.

I covered much of this in the earlier section. The yacht was in great shape. No issues. It’s only a 44 ft boat, so we expected smaller cabins. I’m 6’4” and my son is 6’6”. Having queen beds was great. We only went to the cabins to sleep, so they were fine. Really glad for the A/C. Suzana kept the cockpit in great shape despite us leaving towels and clothes laying around. She constantly kept the kitchen clean. We all agreed that 6 guests on this boat would have been a little cramped. Our group of 4 was perfect.

We used the Sun Chill daily. It’s not comfortable for more than two people. Everyone slides to the middle. The kids liked it, I did not. Some used the paddleboards and had fun. We snorkeled several times a day. It was our primary recreation. Absolutely loved the water, reefs, sea life, corals. There are some good currents in places, but Martin watched us like a hawk and made sure we were safe and picked up. We’re experienced, so currents weren’t an issue. I’ve got about 500 pictures from the underwater GoPro Martin loaned us for every swim.

Suzana is a very good chef. Always three courses at dinner with great variety, we love seafood and she prepared great salmon, grouper, tuna, and lobster. Didn’t know Martin was a baker. Excellent sourdough bread, wheat bread, and from-scratch thin crust pizza! Great strong coffee in the morning. They followed preferences perfectly. We asked to try items from their native Slovenia, and Suzana made several dishes for us. They were family recipes and we loved them. Always more than enough food, snacks, mimosas, cocktails, cold beer, and very good wines.

Martin and Suzana were fantastic. We love them both and would love to sail with them again someday. Helpful, kind, considerate, and friendly. Martin and Suzana really know sailing and hospitality. We became friends on our trip.

Could have stayed for another week! The pace was exactly what we wanted it to be. Martin and Suzana were well tuned into our desires. Having never been in the Exumas, we trusted them to help manage the pace and events. We couldn’t be happier with how it worked out. Never bored or hurried.

I can’t say enough good things about the crew, Alex and Renee. The two of them made the trip a wonderful experience for all. They satisfied our visits to places we suggested and then took us to some special places, we would have never of known of. The two of them were there to accommodate us for all our needs and wants. Renee put a lot of care into the variety and presentation of every meal. Both Alex and Renee made it really hard to leave. Unmatched Vacation Experience!
It was a delight to sail with Jason and Lara aboard Tahina.

Our goal for our charter vacation was to unplug and relax, and Jason and Laura curated the perfect experience for this. Our charter aboard Tahina exceeded our expectations. I’d like to say it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but sincerely hope to do it again.

From our pre-charter Zoom meeting with Jason and Lara to our dinghy ride back to the dock, we felt welcomed and as if the entire experience was tailor-made for us. To say they take into account what is on the preference sheets is an understatement. They took this information and created a personal experience for each person in our family.

Jason and Lara are personable, professional, and make an amazing team. They are both very knowledgeable about sailing and more than willing to share their knowledge.

A few of the areas we felt they really shined include:
Sailing knowledge and the ability and willingness to share/teach
Both Jason and Lara are sailing experts and shared their knowledge with each of us in a way that was easy to understand and tailored to our different levels of sailing knowledge and experience.

Culinary skill and presentation
We shared on our preference sheets that we wanted to “eat like the locals.” Lara (and Jason) created a culinary experience that went above and beyond, including things we all enjoy and meals that were out of this world. A few examples include the lobster rolls, a delicious quinoa and veggie salad, Swordfish sandwiches, breakfast frittata, baked brie, and a caviar appetizer platter. And I can’t leave out the creme brûlée! Truly, every meal (and dessert) we had was amazing, and tasted and looked like they came from a 5-star restaurant.

Rapport/Relationship Building
Jason and Lara made us feel welcome and “at home” throughout our 5-night charter. They are both very personable and easy to talk to. We never felt like we were a burden. Rather, we felt a part of the Tahina family right away. They went out of their way to talk with each of us individually about things we had shared on our preference sheets, as well as engage in group conversation.

Our charter was an incredible sailing and culinary adventure and we highly recommend sailing with Jason and Lara on Tahina!

Anyone that is looking for a once-in-a-lifetime sailing adventure, look no further!

I had the pleasure of embarking on a 7-day trip through the Exumas with Ocean Adventure Cat on The Tahina with my family. This was 5-star service from the moment we left the dock in George Town, Exuma. The Chef and manager, Lara, served up some of the tastiest dishes I’ve eaten, and catered directly to my food requests. Each meal was so unique with immaculate presentation and taste the whole way.

All the meals left me ready to tackle the great adventures that the Captain of the Tahina and excursion leader, Jason would have planned for us that day. We did snorkeling in all sorts of remote areas dense with sea life and coral. From getting to interact and pet nurse sharks to swimming by sea turtles, sting rays, eagle rays, dolphins, and various other sea creatures to checking out sunken cargo planes or floating down natural lazy rivers and diving Into caves this was quite a jam-packed trip! In between the great excursions that we took, we could use their paddle boards, kite surf, kayak, or floaties to be on the water.

We sailed over 170 nautical miles while on the Tahina and Jason really took the time to teach me as much as I could ask about how to sail, and any other questions I had about sailboats or the Exumas.

The vessel is very comfortable for sleeping and extremely comfortable for sailing even when we had quite windy days. The boat offers tons of space for tanning or to be in the shade while still getting the full sea breeze. I found my favorite spot to be in their bean bags sitting at the bow.

The greatest part for me though was getting to experience remote areas and beaches that had you staring at every shade of blue all at once. It was truly breathtaking and too beautiful to believe at times.

Jason and Lara are an amazing duo and own their boat so you get a really unique experience compared to some of the other charters out there. They are so interesting and smart as well, that you will leave this vacation more educated on different subjects than when you embarked.

I can’t recommend Ocean Adventure Cat enough with words, I look forward to booking another trip with them in the future.

My partner, Bob Crandall, and I just returned from a glorious week aboard Tahina, with Captains Jason and Lara. What a team! The experience was tailor-made for us in every way. If we wanted an active day they provided it, such as paddle boarding or swimming with sharks! If we wanted to be mellow and just sail along in the breeze…we did just that. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and private. The food was prepared fresh at each meal with sophisticated meal planning, and even that was tailor-made for us: the charcuterie board was complete with a replica of an American Airlines plane, recognizing Bob’s years at the helm! If you’re looking for the perfect getaway…this is it!

By all accounts, we have just had the best family vacation ever. It started with a pineapple mai tai and conch salute to the sunset and from that moment on, Tahina became our home.

Jason & Lara, you have made us feel so welcome in your home (Tahina) as you guided us around the Exumas. We have had so many adventures that we’ll remember forever.

We have been so impressed with everything you have done for us…
• Conjuring morning rainbows (and post-dive showers)
• Showing us the basics of sailing – the difference between ropes and lines, and what the spinnaker is
• Teaching us and the kids about all the animals in the area. To the point where Lily, who was afraid of the “shark slide” at Atlantis, was petting and naming sharks at the back of the boat.
• You handled all of the stressful moments with humor and grace, whether that was a sudden downpour or a quick demonstration of exactly how shallow the water is and how to avoid getting stuck until the next tide.
• Hayden absolutely loved the dinghy and surprisingly swimming with the sharks (a core memory for sure).

And then there was the food – everything was amazing… Lara, you are a magician creating the most wonderful treats & meals from such a tiny kitchen.

We were fortunate enough to spend an incredible 3 days with Lara & Jason in January, and can’t more highly recommend them for your next sailing adventure.

From the moment we stepped on board, we felt welcomed and taken care of, with no detail missed. The boat itself is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable with thoughtful touches such as a personalized welcome sign and reusable water bottles available for the trip. The cabins and bathrooms are well-appointed and plenty big enough for your needs. The salon and outside lounge are also extremely comfortable and we have some amazing memories of meals and sunsets from the lounge area.

The trip itself was completely customized to our preferences and desires starting with a pre-departure call with Lara & Jason and daily check-ins to discuss the day's itinerary based on how we were feeling. While on board we got to snorkel, float down a secluded lazy river, enjoy the “pool”, nap in the hammocks, and enjoy smores at our own private bonfire. Tahina is well-stocked with all sorts of sporting equipment such as paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkel gear to accommodate any adventure you may want to take.

In addition to the activities, we also enjoyed some of the most amazing meals while on board thanks to Lara & Jason. As with our outings, all meals were customized to our preferences and included some of the freshest, most flavorful dishes we've ever had. We've even recreated some of Lara’s meals since coming home.

As sailing charter novices, Lara & Jason went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and answer our never-ending questions about the boat, sailing life, the Bahamas, and their many adventures. They are both highly skilled and experienced in their craft and put us at ease immediately. But beyond that, their warm and welcoming personalities quickly made them feel like old friends as evidenced by our last evening spent playing cards and sharing many laughs with them both.

Again, we can't more highly recommend them for your next sailing trip and are looking forward to our next adventure with Lara & Jason.

A trip aboard Tahina is nothing short of magical.

From the boat, my wife and I got to see The Bahamas as it really is: seemingly endless strings of islands that offer an amazing range of experiences. And Tahina could deliver us to new places before the resort-bound tourists had even climbed into their rental cars.

Jason and Lara knew where to go, what to do, and who to see; but they were happy to tailor our trip to our tastes. Want to dive a reef or stroll a beach? Pet a shark or try the conch? Talk a hike or sit in the sand? We did it all, or tried to, confident that Jason, Lara and Tahina would get us there and back swiftly and safely.

The icing on the cake was all we learned from Jason and Lara about everything from sail trim to swim fins and plenty in between. My wife and I have sailed with them twice already and are looking forward to next time.

What an amazing trip with the Ocean Adventure Cat team. Captain Jason and First Mate Lara were incredibly hospitable, friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, fun!

We spent our days in some of the most beautiful anchorages in the Exumas, floating on crystal clear water under painted blue skies. Every day was action-packed with snorkeling, diving, fishing, hiking, exploring islands, paddle boarding, and kayaking, just to name a few.

On the days that we didn’t feel up to adventures, we had lazy days on secluded beaches, swimming and chilling in the sun on the boat.

We had afternoons getting served happy hour drinks on a sand bar island meanwhile meeting other boaters and cruisers. Our evenings were spent at some of the local restaurants sampling some of the amazing Bahamian seafood. I have never seen lobster so huge!

Lara & Jason were very knowledgeable about the islands and the boat. They were incredible cooks and we even were able to help out a bit in the galley learning to cook up new recipes for fresh-caught conch from our day out on the water. As a monohull sailor myself it was good to get some different experiences sailing and helping crew the boat, learning the differences between boat types.

Tahina was very large and accommodating and never felt too cramped. Plenty of space to spread out both outdoors and below deck. We had such a great time, I’ll definitely be back next season!
